Khyber is one in a series of explorations of the paisley motif, born
in the ancient region of Kashmir in the northern reaches of India and
Pakistan. The design is named for the Khyber Pass, an historic trade
route that linked Central and Southeast Asia and the setting of a
marvelous book I read several years ago. This design is a quieter, more
subdued paisley than ones that came before, perhaps in counterpoint to
the regions's present turmoil.
