Part of the Celso de Lemos family of companies headquartered in the countryside of Portugal, the items produced by Abyss and Habidecor use certified Egyptian Extra Long Staple Giza Cotton. Their cotton is recognized as the finest in the world -- cultivated on the banks of the Nile and picked by hand. The fiber is treated to create yarn of exceptional quality resulting in superior softmess, absorbency, durability and elegance. The two cornerstone products -- the Super Pile towel and the Must rug are available in 60 ever changing colors. The factory is Oeko Tex certified -- based on their commitment to invest in biological water treatment and the use of biodegradable products.
Products are piece-dyed, yarn-dyed and pre-washed. The piece dying process is used to provide uniform colors. The bias trim, label annd terry have the exact same colour, resulting in a more elegant and unique look. The yarn is dyed before using it to make a towel or rug; creating an opportunity to weave patterns in several colors. Their products are pre-shrunk and pre-washed to guarantee they maintain their size. As a matter fo fact, fading is virtually non existent.
