Dea Acquerello Table Linens are delightful. Embroidery gives the Acquerello series a uniquely sophisticated mood. The interplay of flowers on the white background is created using two stitches from the Italian needlework tradition: the silk stitch and the stem stitch. Also called the straight or long-and-short stitch, the former permits painting with a needle and thread, expressed like a brushstroke of color with a long stitch that creates three-dimensionality and a play of light. The stem stitch is ideal for depicting particulars with a sort of delicate cord. This embroidery stitch remains very soft to the touch and can be a simple or double stitch. 100% linen.
